Motherwell v Ross County

Our early kick off in the sunshine see Motherwell and Ross County battle it out in their consolation game.
 
The opening stages see Motherwell apply some early pressure in front of the Ross County goal.
 
County look threatening on the break, unfortunately the ball is over-run.
 
As the game progresses County look sharp – especially on the break.
 
Motherwell are awarded a header, which results in a chance headed just over the crossbar.
 
First quarter of the hour passes and play is fairly balanced.
 
Injury scare for County's Gordon Finlayson, however fortunately he recovers.
 
At the half hour mark there have been no outstanding chances so far, the game is highly competitive and open yet either side have really challenged the oppositions goalkeeper.
 
HALF TIME
Motherwell 0-0 Ross County
 
Second half gets underway - again play is fairly even.
 
There is a 'handbags' moment between County's Kyle McDonald and Motherwell's Fraser Johnstone - however things are quickly resolved.
 
A free kick is awarded to Motherwell and is taken by Adam Ashgar.  He goes directly for goal and fires just over.
 
GOAL
Motherwell 0-1 Ross County
 
Only slightly against the run off play Ross County take the lead – on the break, an excellent run resulting in John Budge opening the scoring.
 
Since their goal County have burst into life. 
 
County make a change with goalkeeper Lewis Milne making way for Connor Hall who very quickly is forced into action – he makes a stunning save following a County corner.
 
Motherwell's Jordan Dodd takes a free kick and produces a great cross – unfortunately no one quite reaches it, as it could have been an equaliser.
 
Motherwell continue to play well despite going behind.
 
Ross County are playing some great passing football.
 
The closing stages of the game is providing some entertaining football for the neutral.
 
GOAL
Motherwell 0-2 Ross County
 
A cross from County's Adam Porrit creates the second goal for County which took an unfortunate deflection off Motherwell's Christopher O'Neill and stands as an own goal.
 
Both teams continue to press forward, which is good to watch.  Motherwell fail to capitalize from their chances and the game finishes 2-0 to Ross County following an impressive performance.
