Match Report by Kim Middleton
Afternoon kick off in the bright sun and strong wind sees Aberdeen take on rivals Dundee in a game that promises to be highly competitive.
GOAL
Aberdeen 1-0 Dundee
The game immediately bursts into action as Aberdeen blast down the pitch and almost within no time at all they are in the lead. Cameron Gibbs with the goal with it all to do with the game barely even kicked off.
Dundee get on with it with heads held high, they refuse to let the early set back deflate them.
Aberdeen remain in possession of the ball and continue to presurise Dundee in the opening few minutes.
GOAL
Aberdeen 2-0 Dundee
The early pressure pays off, really quickly! Harry Milne doubles Aberdeen's lead as the game is still in the opening five minutes. Dundee have barely been outside the penalty box as Aberdeen have been a constant threat from the whistle.
10 minutes in and Dundee eventually have the opportunity to press, with a good spell of possession for the Taysiders.
Aberdeen look sharp on the break with a decent Phillip Watt run.
15 minutes in and Aberdeen's goalscorer Harry Milne shows great effort to keep the ball in play.
Good communication between Aberdeen's Craig Storie and Glen Smith.
Watt breaks up the right and crosses to Craig Storie who is on target – good save from Dundee's stopper.
Dundee are defending the Aberdeen pressure well and we see another great save from the keeper.
GOAL
Aberdeen 3-0 Dundee
Aberdeen earn themselves a corner, the ball scrambles around and eventually comes off the opposition – own goal, 3-0 Aberdeen.
Dundee's keeper makes way, Johnstone replaces him and is immediately in the action as he makes a good save.

Aberdeen 4-0 Dundee
A powerful Milne strike from a good angle beats Johnstone – who gets a touch however the shot has so much pace it hits the back of the net – another for Aberdeen.

Aberdeen 5-0 Dundee
Shortly after his 2nd goal Milne is denied an opportunity in the box and the ref points to the spot. Milne steps up and picks up a hat-trick – 5-0 Aberdeen, very well taken penalty.
HALF TIME
Aberdeen 5-0 Dundee.
Dundee have remained positive – despite going behind so early which is hard for any team to recover from, they have shown spells of promise going forward and have defended well on occasion – it seems they have met Aberdeen on a really good day.
2nd half and Aberdeen continue to Dominate – Dundee's Callum Petrie is warned and Aberdeen get a free kick after Gibbs is fouled, Jason Brown takes it and the keeper collects.
Phillip Watt has another great run as Aberdeen pressurise some more.
As the second half, Dundee show great spirit as they fail to give up and provide a good spell.
Dundee's Callum Petrie is fouled by Brown, Ben Smith puts the resulting free kick just over the bar. Shortly after he unfortunately exits the game after picking up a knock. He is replaced by Steven Roberts.
Aberdeen's Gibbs is fouled by Petrie – who recieves a warning Dundee deal with the resulting free kick.
Dundee have improved defensively this half and they are awarded a penalty, from which Calvin Colqhoun gets a goal back for Dundee. Good penalty.
Aberdeens Craig Storie has looked a threat this afternoon he comes close around 25minutes into the 2nd half.
As the final minutes of the game arrives it is a case of Dundee making sure their defeat is not heavier, however after some excellent passing football and a great build up, Aberdeen get a 6th courtesy of Phillip Watt who has played well today, and deserves a goal to his name.
FULL TIME
Aberdeen 6-1 Dundee
Aberdeen dominate from start to finish, and despite a spirited performance from Dundee, they are well beaten.
Managers comment:
It has been a hard week for the lads – they have played to to their ability and have shown what they are capable of. My man of the match today is Milne following his hat-trick, my man of the week overall is Scott McKenna.
