Dundee Utd v St. Johnstone

The opening stages of the late afternoon kick off and things are even between the two.

GOAL
Dundee Utd 0-1 St. Johnstone
5 minutes in and St. Johnstone take the lead. You blink you miss it, very quick and skillful from Andrew Steeves.

Injury scare for the Saints Ally Gilmour but he runs it off and is able to continue.

The game is fairly end to end with opportunities for both sides.

GOAL
Dundee Utd 1-1 St. Johnstone
The scoreline reflects how even play has been as Jordan Moore nets an equaliser for united, set up by Craig Bell.

The Saints looking sharp on the break with a great run from Dom O'Neill presenting an opportunity.

Soon after St. Johnstone come close to regaining the lead when an Kieran Ward cross is marginally missed by Gilmour.

15 minutes in and it is St. Johnstone who are looking brightest, with Ally Gilmour standing out.

Dundee Utd press with a good run from Craig Bell followed by a cross presenting Jordan Moore with another opportunity. Good play between these two.

The game continues with its end to end nature as St. Johnstone look go forward once more – again Ally Gilmour looking threatening.

30 minutes in and the Saints need to make a change. Gilmour is down injured and he sadly needs to make way early following a fantastic performance in the opening half hour. He is replaced by David Breen – who has had a very good week.

The game remains open, entertaining to watch as both teams push for a half time lead.

HALF TIME
Dundee Utd 1-1 St. Johnstone
The half is seen out, Dundee Utd coming close just before half time however it is all square at the break.


The second half is once again an even affair, however without the same umber of chances as the first to begin with.

Saints come close with Nathan Fishe shooting just over the crossbar from an acute angle.

Play continues as an open end to end affair with no team in particular dominating, just moments at each end.

As the second half comes to a close it is clear every player on that pitch wants the win, very positive to see such a combined effort and determination.

Right before the full time whistle goes St. Johnstone have a great chance to win it but the full time whistle goes and it is level. Penalties it is!
